Bail Out is Whitelion’s major annual fundraising event

Whitelion Bail Out 2009, was held at the Old Melbourne Gaol on Friday 29th May and we were pleased to announce the event raised an amazing $230,000.  With the tough economic times we were facing, this amount surpassed our expectations.  These much needed funds are critical to operating Whitelion programs and will allow Whitelion to continue to provide young people with mentors, jobs and much needed support.

Whitelion Bail Out 2008 was a phenomenal success with over $360,000 being raised. The phenomenal fundraising efforts by the Old Melbourne Goal inmates were matched only by the celebration at the Gaol House Rock Cocktail Party.  Proving that a life can really be turned around with a little help and support from Whitelion. It showed how the combination of both events could contribute to supporting youth at risk.

Whitelion Bail Out 2007 was a massive success with just under $250,000 being raised by the Old Melbourne Goal inmates who experienced the harsh reality of life as an inmate.  This year the inmate experience was warmed up with the opportunity to celebrate their fundraising success with party attendees at the Gaol House Rock Cocktail Party.

Whitelion Bail Out 2006 was a huge success with Whitelion raising over $100,000, however the inmates suffered the cold feeling of life in a cell block.

Awards

The Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) award is one of the most prestigious awards on the Not-For Profit event calendar.

Whitelion Bail Out has been recognised for three years running by the FIA awards:

• 2007 Event of the Year (Victorian Chapter);
• 2006 Event of the Year (Victorian Chapter);
• 2006 The Victorian Innovation Award;
