TASSIE CONVICTS
For the first year the Tassie Convicts will no longer embark on the perilous journey across Bass Strait, as 2013 will showcase the first Hobart Bail Out to be held at the Hobart Penitentiary on Friday 10th May 2013.
The loyal felons from Tasmania have participated in all seven Melbourne Bail Outs.
The Hobart Bail Out experience is dramatic in nature with dozens of actors, comedians and volunteers playing various theatrical roles to give inmates an interactive experience.
The experience exposes inmates to life on the inside with experiences that simulate prison life. Upon arrival, inmates will be stripped of possessions, fingerprinted, photographed and shunned into the main exercise yard where they will be fed prison gruel. Inmates will face a judiciary and have their cases heard in the court before being sentenced to some cell time. Tassie Convicts must raise a minimum of $1,000 (per person) to secure their release.
Upon release, inmates will be escorted to the Cocktail Party to celebrate with friends, family and colleagues.
There are a very limited number of spaces available for this inaugural event.
Or, if you would like to be involved, contact barbara.walters@whitelion.asn.au or 0400 855 850.
